Getting Started
Creating your HypeVault account
Visit the registration page and sign up with your email or connect via Twitch/YouTube. Once registered, you can set up your profile and choose whether you want to stream or collect cards.
Setting up your streamer profile
After registering, go to your Dashboard and complete your streamer profile. Add a display name, avatar, bio, and connect your streaming platform. This information will be visible to viewers who browse the platform.
Understanding the platform basics
HypeVault lets streamers create collectible card packs that viewers can purchase. Each card has a rarity (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic) and an action that triggers on stream when redeemed. Streamers earn revenue from card sales while viewers enjoy interactive stream experiences. You can follow streamers for free, subscribe for perks, send HypeCoins, and more.
Following streamers
Following is a free way to express interest in a streamer. Visit any streamer's profile and click the "Follow" button. You can manage all streamers you follow from the "Following" page in your sidebar. Following is also required before you can craft a streamer's cards in the Crafting Workshop.
Connecting your Twitch or YouTube account
Go to your account settings and click "Connect" next to Twitch or YouTube. You'll be redirected to authorize HypeVault. Once connected, your live status will automatically sync and viewers can find you when you go live.
Cards & Collections
Creating your first card collection
From your streamer dashboard, go to "Collections" and click "Create Collection." Give it a name, description, and set the pack price. Then add individual cards with custom artwork, rarity levels, and redemption actions.
Understanding card rarities
Cards come in four rarity tiers: Common, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. You set the probability for each rarity when creating a collection. Rarer cards are harder to pull from packs and typically have more exciting redemption effects.
How card redemptions work
When a viewer redeems a card during a live stream, the card's action triggers on your stream via the OBS browser source overlay. Each card can only be redeemed once, and the streamer must be live for redemptions to work.
Crafting cards and the follow requirement
The Crafting Workshop lets you destroy unwanted cards for resources, then spend those resources to craft specific cards you want. To craft a streamer's cards, you must be following that streamer first. Cards from streamers you don't follow will appear locked in the crafting list with a link to follow them.
Jumpscare cards
Jumpscare cards are special full-screen cards that display a jumpscare image with a sound effect on the streamer's overlay when redeemed. Streamers must enable jumpscare cards in their settings. Viewers can purchase jumpscare packs from streamers who have them enabled.
HypeCoins
HypeCoins are a way to send monetary support directly to a streamer. Visit a streamer's profile and click "Send HypeCoins" to choose an amount and include an optional message. The streamer receives the coins minus the platform fee, just like card sales.
Giveaways
Streamers can create giveaway links to distribute free card packs to their community. Each giveaway has a unique shareable code, a set number of packs, and optional expiry date. Viewers claim packs by visiting the giveaway link while logged in. Each viewer can only claim once per giveaway.
Payments & Revenue
How revenue sharing works
Standard streamers keep 80% of all card sales revenue. Partner streamers keep 90%. There are no monthly fees or upfront costs. See our pricing page for full details.
Setting up Stripe payouts
Go to your dashboard settings and click "Connect Stripe." You'll be guided through Stripe's onboarding process to set up your bank account or debit card for payouts. Once connected, you can request payouts when your balance exceeds $20.
Understanding transaction fees
The platform fee (20% standard, 10% partner) covers payment processing, hosting, and platform maintenance. Stripe's standard processing fee (2.9% + 30 cents) is included in the platform fee — you won't be charged separately for it.
OBS & Stream Setup
Adding the alert overlay to OBS
In OBS, add a new Browser Source. Copy your unique overlay URL from the streamer dashboard (Settings > Overlay URL) and paste it into the URL field. Set the width to 1920 and height to 1080 for best results.
Customizing alert appearance
You can customize alert animations, sounds, and duration from your streamer dashboard under Settings > Alert Customization. Preview changes in real-time before applying them to your live overlay.
Testing alerts before going live
Use the "Test Alert" button on your streamer dashboard to send a test redemption to your overlay. Make sure OBS is running with your browser source active. This lets you verify positioning, volume, and animation before your stream starts.
Account Management
Updating your profile information
Navigate to your Dashboard and click on Settings. From there you can update your display name, email, avatar, bio, and other profile details. Changes are reflected immediately across the platform.
Changing your password
Go to Dashboard > Settings > Security. Enter your current password and then your new password twice to confirm. If you signed up with Twitch or YouTube, you can also set a password to enable email login.
Managing connected platforms
Under Dashboard > Settings > Connections, you can connect or disconnect your Twitch and YouTube accounts. Connecting a platform enables live status detection and allows viewers to find you through platform-specific searches.
Troubleshooting
Alerts not showing in OBS
First, verify your overlay URL is correct in the browser source settings. Try refreshing the browser source (right-click > Refresh). Ensure you're logged in and your stream is detected as live. If the issue persists, try removing and re-adding the browser source.
Payment or payout issues
If a viewer's payment fails, they should check their card details and try again. For payout issues, ensure your Stripe account is fully verified and your balance exceeds the $20 minimum. Contact our support team if problems continue.
Stream not detected as live
Make sure your Twitch or YouTube account is connected in your settings. Live detection can take up to 60 seconds to update. You can also manually toggle your live status from the streamer dashboard if automatic detection isn't working.
